The only flowers I photograph are those grown in our garden or any that I come across when out for a walk that look something special or in fact pay a major part of a scene, for example, foreground interest in a landscape. When on the very rare occasion that I want or need to take a formal picture of a bloom I always do this in the conservatory using only available natural daylight and definitely not in direct sunlight which I find burns out the true colour and fine detail.
